Creality Pika vs CR-Scan Otter
Compact phone-connected blue-laser scanning versus the established PC-connected Otter infrared workflow, including Pika’s pre-order and mode restrictions.
Buying decision
What should drive your choice?
Portable does not mean standalone
Pika’s screen and battery do not replace the processing host: you still need a compatible phone or PC. Otter is also host-connected. Check the exact operating-system and hardware requirements before buying either.
Select the mode for the object
Pika adds parallel blue laser lines alongside infrared. Its marker-free laser mode requires a wired PC connection, while phone capture has different rate limits. Compare a demonstrated scan of your object type rather than judging only the best stated accuracy.
Check launch status locally
The checked US Pika listing is a pre-order, with timing confirmed by the seller. Regional shops may differ. Do not plan a deadline around announced AI or Gaussian Splatting features that are not available in your chosen workflow.
