## MCP tools

Connect an MCP client using Streamable HTTP to https://makermachinesatlas.com/mcp (POST JSON-RPC, no authentication). Initialize, then use tools/list and tools/call. Accept must include application/json and text/event-stream; responses use JSON. No standalone GET/SSE stream or session storage. Approximate limit: 60 POST requests per IP per minute; maximum body: 16 KiB.

- find_machines: Filter by category, material/use, reference budget, buyer market and workshop requirements; paginated up to 20 results. Unknown specifications do not satisfy explicit requirements. Reference prices are not live quotes; no currency conversion.
- compare_machines: Compare 2–4 distinct catalog IDs with dated specifications and sources.
- get_buying_options: Retailer links and disclosures for a machine ID and explicit buyer country. Language is not a country. Stock and final price remain seller-confirmed.
- calculate_laser_setup: Explicit machine price, currency and all eight accessory checklist entries. Unknown cost is null, not zero. Missing selected costs make the total incomplete.
- calculate_maker_price: Explicit item costs, machine and hands-on minutes, hourly rates, user-supplied fees and buffer.
- calculate_etsy_payback: Explicit investment, item price/costs, user-supplied fees, times, sales assumption and machine capacity. No predicted sales, income tax, VAT or maker wage deduction.
- find_laser_material: Existing cautious material/task/source guidance with sources. Unknown material means stop; this is not a safety certification.

Ask for missing inputs. Preserve verification dates, uncertainty and affiliate disclosures. No purchases, checkout, orders or payments. Submitted calculator inputs are not stored by application code.

Product facts cite official and independent sources and include a last-checked date. Editorial strengths, limitations and planning estimates are kept separate from manufacturer claims. We do not claim hands-on testing unless a page explicitly says so. Market availability may be marked unknown until verified.
